Ffern’s Winter ’26 Campaign
Beneath the Surface: Shooting Ffern’s Winter Campaign Underwater
For Ffern’s Winter ’26 campaign, we brought a cinematic dreamscape to life by submerging a fully realised bedroom scene beneath the surface. Featuring the face of Ffern Carmen de pons, the shoot centered on the ‘big opening’ of their newest fragrance and the launch of their winter film. It was a magical intersection of set design, performance art, and high-concept underwater photography.
Winter 2026 with Ffern was a lesson in magic. Capturing our actress as she opened the signature box beneath the water felt like filming a silent movie; it was the perfect, ethereal way to announce their latest perfume.
Translating Fragrance Into Visual Atmosphere
One of the most fascinating aspects of campaign photography is interpreting something invisible. Perfume exists in memory, texture, temperature, and emotion rather than physical form, so the challenge becomes creating visuals that audiences can almost feel.
For Ffern’s winter campaign, we leaned into themes of stillness, softness, and movement. Water naturally introduced all of these elements while adding an ethereal quality that mirrored the layered complexity of the fragrance itself.
Underwater, movement becomes slower and more intentional. Fabrics drift differently, light scatters softly across skin, and every frame feels suspended in time. That atmosphere aligned beautifully with the quiet, seasonal mood of the campaign.
Why Underwater Photography Works for Fashion and Fragrance Campaigns
Underwater photography introduces a dreamlike quality that is difficult to recreate elsewhere. It removes subjects from everyday environments and creates imagery that feels abstract, immersive, and emotionally charged.
For fashion and fragrance brands, this creates an opportunity to move beyond traditional campaign aesthetics and build something more atmospheric and artistic.
Water also naturally encourages authenticity in movement. Subjects cannot hold rigid poses in the same way they might on land, which often leads to imagery that feels softer, more instinctive, and emotionally resonant.
