Underwater Abstracts
Over the last few years I have developed a process that feels both experimental and deeply intuitive, a way of working which draws on my enduring inspirations—water, colour, and light. It often involves painting, building three-dimensional setups, and then using the distortion of the water to enhance the other elements. These ephemeral scenarios only exist for the brief moment that it takes to photograph them. Each composition is unrepeatable, a fleeting convergence that I can never fully predict.
Colour is at the heart of my practice. I’m driven by the emotional power of certain combinations, often responding to them viscerally. Some pairings ignite a deep sense of harmony in me, while others feel discordant. It’s a powerful, almost instinctive connection and one that guides everything I make.
I truly believe in the all-encompassing power of colour, that it can heal, energise, and balance. Every shade and hue carries its own vibration and frequency and is capable of influencing emotions, moods, and even physical well-being. Through this new body of work, I want to bring colour into our lives—to elevate our spaces, uplift our spirits, and support a sense of wholeness.
